At least I’m getting better using my macro lens

I know, I am blessed beyond belief, I see my grandkids regularly.

Its’ one of the main reasons that I am able to stay somewhat sane.

Sorry he’s not smiling here. He was very happy for the walk. He took my hat from me, so I demanded that he give me one of his in return. Mine kept blowing off his head as he ran, which he loved. His was a little tight on me, but hey, I had protection.

This is such a funny picture, I had just taken a picture of the flower and he wanted a picture with the flower. Yes, I am very very blessed.

If you ask me which of the two pictures I prefer, of course it’s the one with the goofy grandson.

Here, with a flower he picked from a trumpet vine.

And now, onto images I’ve been taking with my macro lens. I am realizing that I need to go for extreme closeups – that is where the fun is with a macro lens. So yes, this is a beautiful image, but lets get closer.

Like how about this? You can see the tiny details of the stamens. Now if only a bee had showed up, but I’m too impatient to wait.

Lets’ go back to roses. They are all bursting into bloom. I have a climbing rose against my back fence. new branches are breaking forth along with the flowers themselves.

A rose bud

It is rare for me to find the rose just as it is emerging from the bud stage.

And then there is the extreme close up of a rose as it is close to the end of its’ cycle. Clearly I need to get better at what I am trying to focus on. I will continue to share the efforts, not just the successes.
