Peacock done

Between puzzles, spending time with grandkids, I have been working on my peacock block for my Baltimore Album.

This thimble gets a lot of use, although it has a very big major flaw. You see that little gem on the front? Well, thread gets caught on it and comes out of the needle. Yes, it is very frustrating. Yes, I spent close to $100 dollars on this silver thimble, which is otherwise quite comfortable. So I’m going to use it Damn it!

More fun with macro lens. So these stitches that you can see here, you really can’t see them with the naked eye. This is the magic of macro photography and even here, they are hardly visible.

Adding leaves and flowers. Btw, the pattern that I have also has a next with eggs and a butterfly. Guess who feels that is overkill?

I do like how I was able to use a fabric in Broderie Perse to create some peacock feathers.

Sorry the light isn’t that good. As good as I am as a photographer, I’m really not that great. So here it is, I had embroidered the crown on the peacock. All leaves and flowers are in place. I hope you agree that adding a nest or a butterfly is just too much. With the variety of leaves it is getting harder to see the bird and I want the bird to be the center image.

I added a little bit of embroidery to the flowers. I don’t want to overwhelm these blocks with embroidery, it’s about the appliqué.

Here we go, six blocks. The light purple ones are slightly larger. At first I thought I’d be modern and creative with the setting. I don’t think so, I think I will end up with something much more traditional. When will I end? I have no idea, I haven’t chosen the next block yet. right now, it’s still puzzles.

This is actually relatively easy, the images are large, details are spread out.

What I find relaxing is doing puzzles.

I pulled out a Sticker art book, this too is relaxing.

I’ve started with the easier ones, will get to more complicated ones soon. As enjoyable as these are, it’s not the same as a puzzle. I am also thinking about getting a paint by number kit. My son in law has one of those that he has started on, there is something so vintage about them. I’ll see if my local craft store, where I bought some more puzzles has them.
