A lot of bear

I love making three dimensional objects, like stuffed animals. My favorite designer is Paula of FunkyFriendsfactory. Her newest pattern is a memory Bear. Use special fabrics to make a patchwork bear. Sure, I guess any pattern can be adapted, but what better way to sell a new pattern.

I’m not going through all the stages of making the bear. I asked my son for some of his daughters old clothes. Seeing that she just turned one year old, he gave me a lot of very small items. Turns out, I had to finagle things to get the pattern pieces to fit.

Most of the fabrics were knit fabric, makes sense. So I took the time to interface every piece. One time I used knit fabric without interfacing and I ended up with a huge blob. I wanted the firmness of a woven fabric.

So much so that I even used interfacing on the one woven fabric. The one with the Gazelle! This was an adorable dress that I had never seen. But it yielded a lot of fabric. The gazelle is very special, because that is what her big brothers’ name is in Hebrew.

It was fun to be able to use this embroidery from one of the onesies.

Sorry if from here on out I’m boring you. I just have to share the cuteness from different angles.

I am waiting for the weekend when I go see the little princess in order to give her the bear. I am thinking that her brother might get jealous and want one of his own… These days he gets upset when she plays with his toys. Also, he thinks that her toys are his toys…. Ah the joys of childhood.
