This weekend I finished the sweater, blocked, photographed and put the project page up on Ravelry!Even in the late afternoon, it was a little hot to be wearing this sweater, although I do like how it matches my skirt perfectly.Getting the pensive model look. Nice fit, a little wide around the hips, but this is a sweater, so that is ok.It fits beautifully across the shoulders and bust. I really, really like how this top down sweater has a very tailored look. The sleeves are little wide, but then, this isn’t a tight fitting knit shirt, it’s a sweater! When it’s not 90 degrees out I will be thrilled to fit some layers underneath.Ok, so this photo is a little out of focus, but it’s artsy! One needs to switch out the boring pictures from time to time.Nice back shot, I do like how the decreases and increases show off the waistline. And now, close ups of the sweater, without me in it. The pockets are probably more of a design detail, anything too heavy and they will drag down.A nice clean finish. I’m not thrilled with the yarn I chose, Amherst by Valley Yarns. This is one of the house yarns of the very large store in MA – Webs. The quality isn’t great, this is after blocking and the stitches aren’t lying as flat as I’d like. With time they will even out, but next time I make a sweater, buy better quality yarn. I went for low cost this time. The lace blocked out nicely. All in all, I’m very happy with this sweater. I don’t have many pull-overs, mostly cardigans. I love the color and once El Nino does more than give us hot summer showers, I will be very happy to wear this out and about.
