Knitting again!

I wound the skein of Chilean marino into two balls.

It is about 200 grams, but I have no idea how long it is. I’m trying to wing it and just knit a shawl, on no. 10 needles. This will be a heavier shawl, but hopefully, there will be enough yarn.

This is Loie by Beth King, her photo as well.

I’m making this pattern, Loie.

I hope this works out, I will probably be making it a lot shorter, because the yarn is so much thicker. It might even be Aran weight…

So while that is going on I finally decided it’s time to make marmalade again. Especially since this year the tree is full!

This year I peeled the lemons and let that soak over night. I was going to take my time and make the marmalade. Then my grandson got sick and I was trying to make marmalade, dinner and watch a sick kid.

What you can’t see in this picture is that I have syrup with pieces of lemon peel floating in it. That is not the result I wanted. So I opened all the jars (only 10 of them, I didn’t make a huge batch), threw the contents back in a pot. Then I added some more lemons, because I could. More sugar, and a heck of a lot more pectin.

Since it is still warm, it isn’t fully solidified, but boy is it yummy.

Since it’s springtime, I need to take pictures of flowers.

I can’t get over the detail with the micro lens.

This is a small flower, I think the bush is called butterfly bush. To be honest, the photo is better than the real flower.

I was zooming in on this California native, when I noticed the bee.

You can literally see the bees’ eye, if not his knees, actually, you can see his knees.

Back to my regular lens. Not bad at all, but not as sharp.

I’m hoping that maybe one of these days I’ll get my sewing tables and then I’ll be sewing like no other. It is very frustrating to pay all my money up front than then get awful service. Oh well, that is life.
