I know it’s very important to label a quilt. Lately I’ve been embroidering the name and at least my first name and then adding my small name tag. It is time to make the job a little easier by printing a label.
Not the neatest of jobs, I sewed together some 2.5″ squares, then printed my name on a piece of paper, photographed and did some minor editing in Picmonkey. Sent it off to Spoonflower and waited.Spacing between the labels so I can cut them out easily, and I have 12 10×10″ labels. Large enough for embroidery. The colors are muddier than the original. The paper became grey. I didn’t ask for a strike-off. At some point I will design something more professional. Notice how I left the year empty. Since I won’t make it to the 22nd century, I’m fine with the 20.Coming up with names isn’t easy, I just realized that I haven’t shared this quilt yet so will do so now. I think I need to wash the fabric first, the sharpie really bled. And I did add the year. I don’t have a recipient in mind yet. otherwise I may have written the name of the quilt smaller and added the name of the baby. This quilt started with the charm pack I won at the Valley MQG back in December. On instagram I saw a quilt made out of a charm pack and a solid wonky star. So I got to work. I had just enough pink for four stars, using the tiniest of scraps.Perfectly respectable size for a baby quilt. So much easier to quilt when it’s a smaller size.I’m very very proud of my FMQ, I found this meandering feather online. Of course on such a busy quilt it’s hard to see the details. This will brighten up any babies room, but because the stars are pink, it will go to a girl. The stripe fabric was a gift, how perfectly it matches! Except there wasn’t enough so I spliced in some grey from time to time.

Thank you! Practice, that is what has improved my quilting.
