Irises

I will probably be boring you this spring with all my pictures of flowers. I have an amazing new camera, and with all the rain we had this winter, the flowers are unbelievable. Today I’m sharing irises, none are mine, all my neighbors.

Traditional light blue purple.

A redder purple, with those hints of orange.

Three stages, about to bloom, full bloom and on it’s way out.

Very pale, almost white. I’m noticing a new flower is opening and it’s dark purple, so I wonder if the light color is simply and older flower?

Beautiful pale two tone.

Very impressive two-tone. Stark contrast between the deep purple and the white.

I used to paint flowers for textile designs. I don’t think I ever painted an iris, but boy am I tempted. Thing is, I no longer have the paints or the brushes – so I use my camera instead.

Yellow Orange!!! Yay, Yay! I drove back to this spot to get this picture.

And this one. If I see more amazing irises – I will be sharing them. Meanwhile, I have other flowers waiting in the wings.
